F-1 (Student) Visa Advising

Global ESL Academy is here to advise and help students who would like to apply for an F-1 visa from abroad or who already have an F-1 visa and would like to transfer into our school. Our advisors are available to work with you via email, on the phone, or in person to take you through every step of the process from applying for an I-20 from our school to applying for the F-1 visa at the American Embassy or Consulate in your country. Higher Education Academic Advising

We are available to help our students who want to further their higher education to identify and choose the most suitable undergraduate and graduate programs at colleges and universities in the United States. New Student Orientation

At these orientations, students will obtain information on class and attendance requirements and academic policies at Global ESL Academy, on F-1 (Student) Visa requirements and maintaining one’s status, on getting around New York, on opening a bank account, on getting a cellular phone and on other topics that are essential for people newly arrived in this country.

Student Development Workshops

These workshops include topics such as “How to obtain a driver’s license in New York,” “How to file income taxes if someone is not a resident or a citizen of the United States” and “An extension of an educational stay in the United States".

Assistance with Student Health Insurance

Global ESL Academy does not provide health insurance plans. International students are advised to buy health insurance before they come to the United States. For your information, below are some of the recommended insurance plans. Please note that the Academy is not responsible for monitoring the quality of services of the listed company.


There are 4 different health insurance plans offered by ISO Student Health Plans and 1 health insuarance company that is NAFSA approved. Please click on each link below to get more specific information about each plan.
